The 3 T’s of SAR

SAR volunteers often get asked about being safe in the outdoors. The 3 T’s of completing a trip plan (let people know where you’re going), training (know your limits) and taking the essentials (10 of them) are part of the AdventureSmart safety program. Unfortunate accidents can happen but if you plan before heading out it lessens the probability of something going sideways. Should you get lost or hurt the ability to find someone who is missing is increased when SAR knows where to start looking! When outdoors with your pet, don’t forget to include them in your list of essentials so they can also be prepared to have fun with you!
